Azealia Banks
caused uproar on the internet for calling Perez Hilton a "f****t" and
wishing death upon him. The female rapper threw the homophobic slur at
the celebrity blogger on Twitter after he sided with her rap rival Angel
Haze in their heated feud that led to a war of diss tracks.
"omg u should just kill yourself... Like for real," Azealia tweeted,
before adding, "lol what a messy f****t you are." She's unapologetic,
but did say sorry to anyone who felt offended, "My most sincere
apologies to anyone who was indirectly offended by my foul language. Not
sorry for Perez tho. Lol"
"A f****t is not a homosexual male," she explained her choice of word.
"A f****t is any male who acts like a female. There's a BIG difference.
If u listen to my music and are not offended by the word n***a.... We're
not gonna go here with this f****t s**t... We're just not. Lol."
"When I said acts like I female I should've said acts like a c**t.
Unpleasant meddling woman = b***h, unpleasant meddling man = Perez
Hilton. Really not as moved by this f word thing as u all want me to be.
As a bisexual person I knew what I meant when I used that word. And I
meant what I meant when I used that word."
She continued to take all the criticisms in stride and apparently
thought people were just overreacting. "Lol, You guys will all be fine
in the morning. Goodnight. :)," the "212" rhymer wrote in one tweet in
between the angry rants and defensive messages.
The catfight between Azealia and Angel started after the former tweeted,
"Seriously, if you were not born and raised in NY.... DON'T CLAIM NY.
YOU ARE NOT A NEW YORKER." The latter felt the mockery was directed at
her because she released "New York" music video this summer.
"okay, im seriously done with azebra's madagascar 4 looking a**. say it
in a song. or tell the people why you're really salty. #notjusttweets,"
Angel responded, before firing back in a Diplo-produced track "On the
Edge" that she claimed she wrote in just "20 minutes."
21-year-old Azealia begged to differ though as she tweeted, "So diplo
just calls me and tells me she wrote that track months ago and he had
nothing to do with it," before dropping a diss track of her own called
"No Problems".
Angel refused to stay quiet. Calling her foe "fraudulent," she answered in another song called "Shut the F**k Up". Over Tupac Shakur's "Ambitionz Az a Ridah" beat, she mentioned about how Azealia initially tried to befriend her.
"Don't compete, you're not in my lane...You an Internet goon. A Twitter
personality," she furiously expressed her feelings, before capping it
off on Twitter, "I'm apologize to my fans for two days of really
frivolous behavior. Don't get too involved in this, we're still doing
what we came to."
