“Every day I feel more like my old self. I didn’t think I would,” she told People.
Robin
was so weak when she left the hospital in October that she had trouble
walking. Though she’s fortunately on the mend, the anchor admits she
still struggles with after effects.
“I’ve still got chemo brain and my vision is blurry,” she told the mag.
The
52-year-old will return to her “GMA” post on Wednesday and though her
hair is still gone due to the treatment, Robin is taking her new,
low-maintenance ‘do in stride.
“Whatever,” she said of losing her hair. “I’m thankful I have a pretty-good-shaped head!”
The
journalist has projected a strong persona during the months-long
ordeal, but admitted it was a battle – especially immediately following
her diagnosis with MDS.
“I was literally on the floor,” she told the mag of her reaction to her diagnosis with the disease. “I collapsed.
“It’s
important people know I’m not always [feeling positive],” she added.
“But I choose to be happy and not string together the bad days.”
