Justin Bieber
is currently not popular among politicians in the Philippines and
animal lovers. Just one day after the pop star was slammed for mocking
Philippines' boxer Manny Pacquiao, he is accused of committing an act of "animal cruelty" when he gave up his pet hamster PAC to a fan.
In the case of Pacquiao, Bieber posted a photoshopped picture of the athlete falling with Michael Jackson
in parallel lean. "Pacquiao doing the lean with MJ ...Classic moment,"
he wrote in companion of the Instagram photo. Another image was Lion
King's Simba nudging Manny in the manner he did his dead father. Bieber
was joking about Pacquiao's KO by Juan Manuel Marquez on Saturday,
December 8.
"Mr. Bieber should have known that the Hon. Pacquiao has reached his
stature as such as a result of sheer hard work, determination and firm
belief in God, and despite such stature best exemplifies humility and
grace even in defeat," seven lawmakers in the Philippines Congress said
in a statement. They demand an apology from Bieber for his "distasteful
comments...lest he be declared persona non grata."
Meanwhile, California Hamster Association is also pinning on Bieber
after he endangered the life of his hamster by handing it out to another
carer. The group told TMZ that hamsters are fragile creatures that
"often succumb quickly to illness and death," especially when faced with
"sudden environmental change."
CHA believed that "the moment the hamster was handed off to a screaming
girl in a harsh, frenzied environment was likely the moment it gazed at
the short path to its doom." They thought Bieber should have turned it
to more responsible new owner such as an animal or rescue center.
