Olivia Wilde Responds to Justin Bieber Fans' Mean Tweets

Olivia Wilde appeared on "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" on Tuesday, March 12 and talked about hate tweets she had received after criticizing Justin Bieber who walked around London shirtless. Wilde claimed people misunderstood her, as she told host Jay Leno, "He is in London and it's so cold there and I was concerned I said it with love."

"I think people misunderstood and thought it was mean spirited. They didn't realize it was said with love. I got a lot of interesting feedback from his fans... about 35 million people. They had some really great notes, and I have some of them for you," Wilde continued, then read out some of the hate tweets addressed to her.

"Are you a lesbian or are you too old?" she read one hate tweet and responded, "And it's great because it's a question I'd never asked myself before and I was wondering am I too old to be a lesbian? Because I did just have a birthday so I may have missed my window..."

"Put your shirt over you mouth," she read another tweet. Her reaction was, "I'm assuming [the tweet] is a Shakespearean insult, so I thought that was useful for future arguments. There's about 17,000 others but they have too many expletives to say on your show."

"It's pretty much the funniest thing that's ever happened to me because my Twitter feed is now filled with the most hilarious abuse... They're all 13," the 29-year-old actress added.

Earlier this month, Wilde took to Twitter to voice her opinion about Bieber's half-naked nighttime stroll through London during his 19th birthday celebration. "Bieber, put your f**king shirt on. (unless you lost all your shirts in a fire in which case my condolences and please purchase a new shirt.)," she tweeted.
