One Direction's Louis Tomlinson Signs Football Deal With Doncaster Rovers

One Direction's Louis Tomlinson is looking to add another job title to his resume, that of professional football player, after being a globally-successful boyband member. The 21-year-old entertainer has signed a deal with his home team, the Doncaster Rovers, and will see in action on the field wearing a No. 28 jersey when the upcoming season begins, while still upholding his commitments with 1D.

"This has always been a childhood dream for me. I feel very honored to have been asked to sign for Rovers and being able to help both the club and the amazing charity Bluebell Wood is what it's all about," Tomlinson said in a statement. As a child, Tomlinson used to work as a ball boy at the Rovers' stadium where he also watched games as a fan.

Tomlinson's non-contract appearance playing for the Rovers will be in aid of local charity Bluebell Wood Children's Hospice. It is with Bluebell Wood that Tomlinson played for during a charity match that would serve as the clincher for his newfound career as a pro-athlete.

Tomlinson is no stranger to playing in front thousands of screaming fans, having performed onstage in sold-out stadium concerts with his band mates Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne, and Harry Styles. For his team's upcoming matches, Tomlinson will be exchanging his vocals and dance moves for football skills in front of the 15,000-capacity Keepmoat Stadium.
