"The Real Housewives of Miami" star Adriana De Moura will go naked for a PETA
campaign. According to E! News, the TV personality is going to ditch
her clothes and pose in a bathtub for an ad which will bring awareness
to the cruel practice of keeping sea mammals for entertainment purpose.
The ad which features Adriana will highlight a question, "Could you live
in a tub for 40 years?" It will be focused on the story of a lone Orca
called Lolita. Killer whales
travel in groups in the ocean, but the mammal is imprisoned in a small
tank at the Miami Seaquarium. Lolita has been there since it was caught
in 1970.
Adriana, who was born in Brazil, hopes that appearing in the ad can
bring differences to the poor mammals. Adriana is passionate about the
issue because Brazil has banned the cruel practice along with a few
other countries. Adriana as well as the activists urge Miami Seaquarium
to send Lolita to Puget Sound.
Earlier this year, four former Miss USA winners stripped down for a PETA campaign which targeted the use of fur products in pageants. The headline of the campaign which featured Shanna Moakler, Susie Castillo, Shandi Finnesey and Alyssa Campanella, read, "Feel beautiful in your own skin, and let animals keep theirs. Say no to fur."
PETA noted that millions of animals such as foxes, minks, raccoons, rabbits, chinchillas, and even cats and dogs,
are electrocuted, beaten, drowned, strangled, and skinned alive every
year because of their fur. "I've been an animal lover all my life, and
the more I learned of the torture that animals go through in the name of
fashion, I just think it's so unnecessary," Susie, 2003 Miss USA
winner, said in a statement.
